Carlotta Domeniconi


Dr. Carlotta Domeniconi is an associate professor in George Mason’s Department of Computer Science. She earned her BS in Computer Science at the University of Milan, her MS in Information and Communication Advanced Technologies at the International Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies in Salerno, and her PhD from University of California Riverside, 2002. Her areas of interest are machine larning, data mining, pattern recognition, classification, clustering, feature relevance estimation, text mining, and bioinformatics. She has published widely, including recent papers on Persistent roles in online social 
networks. In Proceedings of the European Conference on Machine Learning. Springer (2017); Online urbanism: Interest-based subcultures as drivers of informal learning in an online community. In Proceedings of the ACM Conference on Learning at Scale (2016); Finding com- munity topics and membership in graphs. In Proceedings of the European Conference on Machine Learning (ECML PKDD) (2015). 
 She was PI of a contract award from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) on Summarization, Profiling, and Community Detection in Large Semi-Structured Graph Data. 
 She has also served on numerous editorial boards and conference program committees, among them: associate editor TKDE Journal; associate editor KAIS Journal; associate editor Computational Intelligence Journal; associate editor IEEE TNN 2012-13; General co-Chair SDM 2016-17.
